Royal Orleans, based in New Orleans, "was a high-end collectible company, a division of a large gift company."* Royal Orleans created several lines of collectibles including M*A*S*H, Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola, Dynasty, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Disney, and Watership Down plates, figurines, music boxes, and other collectibles. Their products typically sold for $50.00 and under. Bill and Jan Hagara purchased Royal Orleans in 1987. The new company was first named Hagara Dolls Co. and then renamed the company Jan Hagara Collectables. They moved the company from New Orleans to 3700 Williams Drive in Georgetown, Texas.
